Mewo Dotan ( Hebrew מְבוֹא דּוֹתָן; Arabic ميفو دوتان) is an Israeli settlement in the West Bank , which belongs to the Shomron regional administration and is located near Baka-Dschat and Jenin . Mewo Dotan has 393 inhabitants (as of 2017). The settlement, which was founded illegally under international law in 1977, was named after the neighboring, prehistoric residential mound Tel Dotan ( Hebrew תֵּל דּוֹתָן) named. The biblical place Dotan is mentioned in Gen 37,17  EU and 2 Kings 6,13  EU .
