Ribera Palacios is a street village in the Santa Cruz Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Ribera Palacios is the sixth largest town in the municipality of Cabezas in the Cordillera province . The settlement is located at an altitude of 395  m in an intensively used agricultural region twenty kilometers west of the Río Grande , which has finally reached the Bolivian lowlands here.

Ribera Palacios is located on the southeastern edge of the Bolivian Cordillera Oriental in the area of ​​the subtropical climate and is characterized by a six-month dry season that extends from May to October.

Ribera Palacios is 71 kilometers south of Santa Cruz , the capital of the department of the same name.

From Santa Cruz, the paved national road Ruta 9 leads south via Villa Simón Bolívar to Basilio and further south via Cabezas , Abapó , Ipitá and Villamontes to Yacuiba on the Bolivian border with Argentina . Six kilometers south of Basilio, a dirt road branches off from Ruta 9 in an easterly direction and after seventeen kilometers reaches Ribera Palacios .

The settlement is primarily populated with families of the Mennonite religious community , who have settled in Bolivia, especially in the Santa Cruz department.
