Ribera Palacios is a street village in the Santa Cruz Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Ribera Palacios is the sixth largest town in the municipality of Cabezas in the Cordillera province . The settlement is located at an altitude of 395 m in an intensively used agricultural region twenty kilometers west of the Río Grande , which has finally reached the Bolivian lowlands here.

Ribera Palacios is located on the southeastern edge of the Bolivian Cordillera Oriental in the area of the subtropical climate and is characterized by a six-month dry season that extends from May to October.
The average temperature of the region is around 24 ° C (see Cabeza's climate diagram), the monthly values fluctuate between 20 ° C in June and July and 27 ° C in December and January. The annual precipitation is 800 mm, the wettest months are January and February with 130 mm and the driest months July and August with less than 20 mm in the long-term average.

Ribera Palacios is 71 kilometers south of Santa Cruz , the capital of the department of the same name.
From Santa Cruz, the paved national road Ruta 9 leads south via Villa Simón Bolívar to Basilio and further south via Cabezas , Abapó , Ipitá and Villamontes to Yacuiba on the Bolivian border with Argentina . Six kilometers south of Basilio, a dirt road branches off from Ruta 9 in an easterly direction and after seventeen kilometers reaches Ribera Palacios .

The population of the village has not changed significantly in the past decade. In the 2001 census, the town of Menonitas Rivas Palacio still had 5805 inhabitants, but now traded as Menonitas Rivas Palacio (3770 inhabitants) and Ribera Palacios (1382 inhabitants) in the 2012 census :

The settlement is primarily populated with families of the Mennonite religious community , who have settled in Bolivia, especially in the Santa Cruz department.
