The Municipio Cabezas is a district in the Santa Cruz Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality of Cabezas is one of seven municipalities in the province of Cordillera and covers an area in the northwestern part of the province. It borders the province of Florida in the northwest , the province of Vallegrande in the west, the municipality Gutiérrez in the south, the municipality Charagua in the east , and the province of Andrés Ibáñez in the north .

The municipality extends between about 17 ° 50 'and 19 ° 12' south latitude and 62 ° 41 'and 63 ° 49' west longitude, its expansion from west to east is up to 100 kilometers and from north to south up to 120 kilometers .

The municipality comprises 126 municipalities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is the town of Cabezas with 2,319 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) on the south-eastern edge of the district, the most populous town is the town of Abapó with 2,386 inhabitants.

The municipality of Cabezas is located on the western edge of the Bolivian lowlands in front of the foothills of the southeastern Cordillera Central . The climate is subtropical and semi-humid , the temperatures fluctuate only to a limited extent during the day and during the year.
