Menonitas Rivas Palacio (also: Menonita Rivas Palacio or Rivas Palacio de Menonitas ) is a town-like settlement in the Santa Cruz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Menonitas Rivas Palacio is the most populous town in the municipality of Cabezas in the Cordillera province . The settlement is located at an altitude of 371 m in an intensively used agricultural region thirteen kilometers west of the Río Grande , which has finally reached the Bolivian lowlands here.

Menonitas Rivas Palacio is located on the southeastern edge of the Bolivian Cordillera Oriental in the area of the subtropical climate and is characterized by a six-month dry season that extends from May to October.
The average temperature of the region is around 24 ° C (see Cabeza's climate diagram), the monthly values fluctuate between 20 ° C in June and July and 27 ° C in December and January. The annual precipitation is 800 mm, the wettest months are January and February with 130 mm and the driest months July and August with less than 20 mm in the long-term average.

Menonitas Rivas Palacio is 76 kilometers south of Santa Cruz , the capital of the department of the same name.
From Santa Cruz, the paved national road Ruta 9 leads south via Villa Simón Bolívar to Basilio and further south via Cabezas , Abapó , Ipitá and Villamontes to Yacuiba on the Bolivian border with Argentina . Six kilometers south of Basilio, a dirt road branches off to the east from Ruta 9 and after a little more than twenty kilometers it reaches the center of Menonitas Rivas Palacio .

The population of the village has changed only insignificantly in the past decade. In the 2001 census, the village still had 5,805 inhabitants, but now trades as Menonitas Rivas Palacio (3,770 inhabitants) and Ribera Palacios (1,382 inhabitants) in the 2012 census :

As the name suggests, the settlement is primarily populated with families of the Mennonite religious community , who have settled in Bolivia, especially in the Santa Cruz Department.
