Mial Eben Lilley

Mial Eben Lilley (born May 30, 1850 in Canton , Bradford County , Pennsylvania , †  February 28, 1915 in Towanda , Pennsylvania) was an American politician . Between 1905 and 1907 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Mial Lilley attended both public and private schools. After that he worked as a blacksmith for a few years. After a subsequent law degree in Canton and his admission as a lawyer in 1880, he began to work in Towanda in this profession. He was elected to the Office of Prothonotary of Bradford County in 1893 and 1896 . In 1903, he became the assistant federal attorney for central Pennsylvania state. Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party .

In the congressional elections of 1904 , Lilley was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 14th  constituency of Pennsylvania , where he succeeded Charles Frederick Wright on March 4, 1905 . Since he was not confirmed in 1906, he could only serve one term in Congress until March 3, 1907 . After his time in the US House of Representatives, Lilley practiced as a lawyer again. He died on February 28, 1915 in Towanda, where he was also buried.
