Bradford County is a county in the state of Pennsylvania in the United States . At the 2000 census , the county had 62,761 people and a population density of 21 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Towanda .
history
The county was formed on February 21, 1810 with the designation Ontario County . On March 24, 1812, the name was changed to the current name, which is reminiscent of the lawyer and politician William Bradford .

geography
The county covers an area of 3,007 square kilometers, of which 27 square kilometers are water. Bradford County is bordered by Susquehanna County to the east, Wyoming County to the southeast, Sullivan County to the south, Lycoming County to the southwest, Tioga County to the west, and New York State to the north .
