history

McKean County was formed on March 26, 1804 from parts of Lycoming County and named after Governor Thomas McKean .

The Bradford Old City Hall is one of ten entries of the county in the NRHP.

Ten buildings and sites in the county are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) (as of July 23, 2018).
