Miami Air International was a US charter airline based in Miami and based at Miami International Airport . The airline filed for bankruptcy in May 2020.

history

Miami Air International was founded in 1991. The offer was aimed primarily at business customers; according to its own statement, the airline flew for Fortune Global 500 companies, sports teams and major cruise lines . The charter company was able to tailor the entire flight to its taste: the cinema program shown, catering, even the logo on the headrest of the seats could be individually adapted. The departure and destination airports were also freely selectable, with the Boeing 737's maximum flight time being six hours.

Tomas Romero, owner of Caribbean Sun Airlines Inc. ( World Atlantic Airlines ), took over Miami Air International including all certificates and trademark rights at the end of May 2020 for $ 3.3 million at the bankruptcy auction. A new "Miami Air" is to restart with the same types of aircraft and some of the staff of the old airlines.

Destinations

Miami Air International was a pure charter airline. In addition to working for other airlines, she also transported troops and cargo for the Air Mobility Command of the United States Air Force under the Civil Reserve Air Fleet program .
