Mianus

Mianus is a place in Fairfield County in the US state of Connecticut . The place belongs politically to the city of Greenwich and borders on its districts Cos Cob, Riverside, North Mianus and Palmers Hill.

The place is about 7 m above sea level on the western bank of the confluence of the river of the same name in the Long Island Sound , which forms the elongated bay Cos Cob Harbor. One rail and two road connections lead over these from Stamford to the east to Greenwich and on to New York City . Mianus is located on the northeastern edge of the metropolitan area of ​​New York City. Manhattan is around 40 km away.

Earlier names of the place were Upper Landing and Mayamus . Became famous for Mianus by the MTV telecast Jackass , was exploited in that Mianus as my anus (my anus ) is pronounced.
