Mianus

Mianus is a place in Fairfield County in the US state of Connecticut . The place belongs politically to the city of Greenwich and borders on its districts Cos Cob, Riverside, North Mianus and Palmers Hill.

The place is about 7 m above sea level on the western bank of the confluence of the river of the same name in the Long Island Sound , which forms the elongated bay Cos Cob Harbor. One rail and two road connections lead over these from Stamford to the east to Greenwich and on to New York City . Mianus is located on the northeastern edge of the metropolitan area of New York City. Manhattan is around 40 km away.

Earlier names of the place were Upper Landing and Mayamus . Became famous for Mianus by the MTV telecast Jackass , was exploited in that Mianus as my anus (my anus ) is pronounced.
