Michał Kazimierz Pac (lit. Mykolas Kazimieras Pacas ; * 1624 ; † 1682 ) was a hetman of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania , voivode of Vilnius . He comes from the Pac (Lithuanian Pacai ) family, one of the most important Lithuanian noble families of the Republic of the Polish Crown and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania .

Career

From 1662 to 1667, Pac was a field hetman in charge of border security in the east and south of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and from 1667 until his death in 1682, Grand Hetman , Commander-in-Chief for the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the highest military representative of the Polish King (also the Grand Duchy of Lithuania) in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius . In addition, from 1669 he took over the office of voivode of Vilnius, i.e. the chief administrator of the Vilnius province.

His name is still associated with the construction of the baroque St. Peter and Paul Church . This church in the Antakalnis district of Vilnius was to serve as his legacy. Together with the legacy of his cousin Krzysztof Zygmunt Pac ( lit.Kristupas Zigmantas Pacas ), the Pažaislis Monastery , it represents one of the most important high baroque buildings in Lithuania, especially due to the masterful stucco work inside the church.
