Bishop Michał Warczyński

Michał Warczyński (born February 4, 1945 ) is a Lutheran theologian and was bishop of the Pomeranian-Greater Poland diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

Life

After studying at the Christian Theological Academy in Warsaw , he was in the Church of Our Savior in Sopot on April 18, 1971 ordained . From 1973 to 1983 he was pastor in Zduńska Wola , then from 1983 to 2010 pastor in Sopot. He was introduced to the office of diocesan bishop on March 7, 1992 in Sopot.

Michał Warczyński was pastor of the parishes of Gdańsk - Gdynia - Sopot ( Danzig-Gdingen-Sopot ) and for many years also in Słupsk ( Stolp ). From 1992 to 2010 he held the office of diocesan bishop of Pomerania-Greater Poland with official seat in Sopot.

At the end of 2010, Warczyński retired. His successor in the Sopot parish and also in the episcopate is Marcin Hintz .
