Michał Winiarski (born September 28, 1983 in Bydgoszcz ) is a Polish volleyball player .

Career

Winiarski began his career in his hometown at Chemik Bydgoszcz . He then played for SMS PZPS Spała before joining AZS Częstochowa in 2002 . In 2003 he became world champion with the Polish juniors. In the following year, the universal player made his debut in the senior national team . In the 2005/06 season he won the national double championship and cup with his new club Skra Bełchatów . He then reached the final of the 2006 World Cup with Poland . After this success Winiarski played in the Italian league with Itas Diatec Trentino and became Italian champion in 2008. With the national team, he reached the quarter-finals at the Olympic Games in Beijing and thus came in fifth. In 2009 Trentino was runner-up with Winiarski and won the Champions League . At the European Championship , the universal player won the title with the team. Then he returned to Bełchatów. The club became Polish champions in 2010 and a year later they achieved the double. With the national team Winiarski was third in the world league and the European championship in 2011 and second in the World Cup . In 2012 he won the cup again in Bełchatów, but just missed the title in the league and in the Champions League . The Poles won the World League in 2012 . In London, Winiarski experienced his second Olympic tournament .
