Michael Anthony Perry OFM (born June 7, 1954 in Indianapolis ) has been Minister General of the Franciscan Order and ex officio Grand Chancellor of the Antonianum Pontifical University since 2013 .

Life

Michael Anthony Perry came on June 25, 1977, the Congregation of the Franciscan at. After his first profession on October 10, 1981, he received the sacrament of ordination on June 2, 1984 .

During his early years in the United States , he received a PhD in theological anthropology and worked for Catholic Relief Services , a nonprofit of the United States Bishops' Conference . He later served as a missionary in Africa for ten years in the Democratic Republic of the Congo . Michael Anthony Perry also served in the general office of the International Commission on Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (GPIC) of his order and served his province in the theological formation of the friars after the novitiate. He became Minister Provincial of the Province of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (US Province). Before being elected Minister General, he was Vicar General of the Order.
