Michael Beaton (born October 26, 1988 in Melbourne ) is a former Australian ice hockey player who was under contract with Melbourne Ice for four seasons in the Australian Ice Hockey League .

Career

Michal Beaton began his hockey career in his hometown with the Melbourne Blackhawks. After he also played lower class for the Adelaide Blackhawks in 2006, he returned to his hometown in 2007 and played there after another year with the Melbourne Blackhawks from 2008 for Melbourne Ice in the Australian Ice Hockey League . His greatest achievement with the club was winning the Goodall Cup , the Australian championship title, in the 2010 season. He then ended his career at the age of just 22. In his three AIHL seasons, the attacker scored six goals and six assists in 51 games.

International

For Australia, Beaton took part in the junior division of the U18 World Championship in Division III in 2005 as well as the U20 World Championship in Division II in 2007 and the U20 World Championship in Division III in 2008 , when he was second best scorer and goalscorer behind his compatriot Chris Eaden . In the senior division, he was only in the 2010 Division II World Cup in the Australian national team . He scored one goal in five games and gave three assists.
