Michael Bennett (* 24. February 1993 ) is an American American football player . He plays for the Atlanta Falcons in the National Football League (NFL) on the position of defensive tackles . He previously played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes .

Childhood and youth

Bennett attended Centerville High School in Centerville . In addition to football, he was also active in other sports. He was the 2011 winner in the shot put and second in discus throwing in the state of Ohio . In addition, he also practiced hammer throwing .

college

Benett went to Ohio State University in 2011 and played there for the Buckeyes for four years. In his freshman year, Bennett played in all 13 games, making 17 tackles and 3 sacks . The following year, Bennett missed five games due to an injury. In 2013 Bennett played again in all 13 games, where he got 44 tackles and 7.5 sacks. Also in his last season for the Buckeyes he played in all games and won the Big Ten Conference with them .

Jacksonville Jaguars

On May 2, 2015, Bennett was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars as the 180th player in the 2015 NFL Draft . On May 16, 2015, he signed a four-year contract with the Jaguars. After suffering a hip injury in the preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons , he was placed on the Injured Reserve List on September 3, 2016 . On September 19, 2017, Bennett was placed back on the Injured Reserve List after suffering a chest muscle injury. On September 11th, Bennett was released from the Jaguars.

Atlanta Falcons

On October 2, 2018, Bennett signed a contract with the Atlanta Falcons . He played two games for the Falcons, scoring five tackles and one sack. He was released on October 30, 2018. In January 2019, the Falcons signed Bennett again.
