Michael James Blackburn (born July 25, 1970 in Sydney ) is an Australian sailor .
successes
Michael Blackburn took part in three Olympic Games in the laser boat class . At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta he just missed winning a medal in fourth place, before winning the bronze medal four years later in his native Sydney behind Ben Ainslie and Robert Scheidt . The 2004 Games in Athens joined Blackburn from ninth place.
At world championships in Cancun in 2000 he won his first world championship medal with silver, and in 2003 and 2004 he won bronze. In contrast, he was world champion in the laser radial in 2004, as was the laser two years later at the world championships in Jeju-si .
