Michael Boyle (basketball player)

Michael Boyle is a retired American / German basketball player .

career

Boyle played from the 1980/81 season at USC Bayreuth in the basketball league . In the game year 1982/83 he was represented with Bayreuth in the European Cup. In 1983 the development player moved to 1. FC Bamberg in the 2. Basketball Bundesliga and was second-best Bamberg scorer behind Kennith Sweet in the 1983/84 season (359). He thus contributed to Bamberg's return to the Bundesliga.

After a year in Bamberg, Boyle returned to Bayreuth. The team had meanwhile crashed into the second division, under the new name BG Steiner-Optik, Boyle rose again to the Bundesliga with Bayreuth in 1985 and also made it into the final of the DBB Cup as a second division.

In the 1985/86 season Boyle took part with Steiner Bayreuth as a Bundesliga climber in the European club competition Korac Cup . In the following years further European Cup appearances were added. Boyle later played for MTV Wolfenbüttel .

In 1984 Boyle played three full international matches for the German national team.

During his career, Boyle scored a total of 2052 points in the Bundesliga
