Michael Chandler

Michael Chandler (born before 1983) is an American film editor , screenwriter and film director who is particularly active in the field of documentary films .

Life

Michael Chandler completed a degree in Urban Studies from Yale University , followed by a Masters degree in Communication from Stanford University .

Chandler worked as an editor for various documentaries from the late 1970s. 1983 cut it with Never Cry Wolf his first feature film. The following year he worked on Amadeus , for which he and Nena Danevic received an Oscar nomination in the category Best Editing . They also won a British Academy Film Award in the Best Editing category . The American Cinema Editors honored her with an Eddie Award. Chandler received his first Eddie Award in 1981.

In the 1980s he wrote his first scripts for documentaries, and in 1998 he made his directorial debut with Forgotten Fires . As a director and screenwriter he works exclusively in the documentary sector and has received several awards.

He runs the production company Pack Creek Productions together with producer Sheila Canavan.
