Michael Domsgen

Michael Domsgen (* 1967 ) is a German Protestant theologian and religious educator .

Life

From 1987 to 1994 he studied Protestant theology in Halle an der Saale (1994 first theological exam (diploma)), Jena , Bern , Kiel and Tübingen . From 1994 to 1997 he had a doctoral scholarship from the state of Saxony-Anhalt. After receiving his doctorate in 1997 as Dr. theol. at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg , in 1998 he was awarded the Luther Medal. From 1997 to 1999 he was a religion teacher at grammar schools in Hoyerswerda and Weißwasser . He completed the parish vicariate (1998–2000) in Rietschen ( Evangelical Church of Silesian Upper Lusatia ) in 2000 with the second theological exam in Görlitz and ordination in 2000 in Magdeburg . From 2000 to 2002 he was a school priest in Wernigerode and a lecturer at the Pedagogical-Theological Institute Drübeck . After being granted employability as a pastor in 2002, he was a research assistant at the University of Münster from 2002 to 2006 . After completing his habilitation in 2004 and being awarded the venia legendi for religious education, he has been Professor of Protestant Religious Education at the Theological Faculty of Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg since 2006 .

His main research interests are religious education in East Germany, religious education in the context of non-denominationalism, religious education theory of the family and religious education from a systemic perspective.
