Michael Doppelmayr (born September 18, 1958 in Vorarlberg ) is an Austrian entrepreneur and CEO of the Doppelmayr / Garaventa Group .

Life

Michael Doppelmayr was born on September 18, 1958 as the eldest son of Artur Doppelmayr in Vorarlberg . After attending the HTL Anichstrasse in Innsbruck , he studied business administration at the University of Innsbruck from 1980 to 1989 .

After two years as managing director of the Vorarlberg headgear manufacturer Capo , he joined the family business in 1991. In 1992, he was the fourth generation to take over his father's agendas at Doppelmayr Seilbahnen GmbH. In 1994 he became CEO of Doppelmayr Holding. Under the leadership of Michael Doppelmayr, the internationalization of the company continued with branches in over 40 countries and customers in 95 countries around the world. Michael Doppelmayr merged with the Swiss company Garaventa.

He lives in a community with his partner Inna. According to his own statements, golf, mountain hiking and hunting are his hobbies in addition to his weakness for classic cars.
