Michael Engl

Michael Engl (* around 1982 in Bruneck ) is an Italian jazz and classical musician ( tuba ).

Live and act

Engl, who played the trumpet in the brass band of Kiens as a child and then switched to the euphonium, graduated from high school in the field of mechanical engineering. He began studying architecture and then studied at the Tyrolean State Conservatory in Innsbruck, where he obtained the artistic diploma in the subject "tuba", and then switched to Josef Steinböck at the University of Music and Theater in Munich , where he graduated with first prize in 2011 . Since 2008 he has been playing with the Unterbiberger Hofmusik , with which he recorded the albums Made in Germany (2008) and Stern über Biburg (2013). Since 2011 he has been a member of the Rheinische Philharmonie in Koblenz. He also leads his septet Blechbriada ; he can also be heard with Matthias Schriefl ( Six, Alps & Jazz ).
