Michael Fischer (born October 25, 1967 in Neumünster ) is a former German soccer player . He played three games in the 2nd Bundesliga for FC St. Pauli .

Life

Fischer, whose father Kay was a handball player and was about to jump into the national team in 1964, went through the youth of TuS Appen . The striker played at Rasensport Elmshorn under coach Eugen Igel , his athletic foster father. In 1991, Fischer was about to move to the second division club SV Meppen , which ultimately did not materialize.

For the 1992/93 season, Fischer moved to FC St. Pauli. “For me it was definitely the most impressive year in terms of sport as an active person”, he later looked back on his time with the Hamburg team. Fischer played his first second division game on October 18, 1992 against Waldhof Mannheim . “Nervous, but very promising. Always on the move, ”said the Hamburger Abendblatt, assessing  the performance of the newcomer, who also played over 90 minutes in his second game in the 2nd Bundesliga, on his 25th birthday against Mainz 05 . Fischer played his third and last second division game on October 31, 1992 at MSV Duisburg . He was in the starting eleven and was substituted off in the 55th minute. In addition to his appearances with the professional team, Fischer played in the St. Paulis amateur team. First he was thrown from a broken eye socket and a torn ligament during a training session prevented FC St. Pauli and Fischer from signing the prospective two-year contract.

After a season at FC St. Pauli, Fischer returned to Raspo Elmshorn in 1993, and in the same year began studying sports. In the further course of his playing time he strengthened the SV Halstenbek-Rellingen . He later worked as a teacher in a funding institution and became an amateur trainer. The father of two sons was the player-coach of his home club TuS Appen. From 2000 to 2004 he was in charge of the Wedeler TSV . He led Wedel to promotion to the association league and was honored as coach of the year of the association league Hamburg in 2003 after he had been promoted to the top division with the team. After his time in Wedel he was a trainer in Hamburg at HEBC and from 2006 at VfL Pinneberg . In 2011 he led Pinneberg to promotion to the Hamburg Oberliga. In January 2016, Fischer and VfL separated.

He then coached VfR Horst from the 2016/17 season, and was released at the end of October 2017. He then looked after FC Türkiye in Hamburg from December 2017 to December 2018 (first major, then regional league). In 2019/20 he was the coach of FC Roland Wedel (district league). In March 2020, Fischer was introduced as the new coach of the upper division SV Rugenbergen .
