Michael Green (hockey player)

Michael Green (born May 5, 1972 in Braunschweig ) is a former German hockey player .

biography

During his school days, Green played for the Braunschweig clubs MTV and BTHC . After graduating from high school, he went to Hamburg , where he joined the Harvestehuder THC . In 1993 Green became World Junior Champion in Terrassa . From 1993 to 2006 he was a defender of the German national team .

Green completed a total of 320 international matches (308 field, 12 hall). He took part in the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996 and Sydney in 2000 and became world champion in Kuala Lumpur in 2002 . In 2002 he was recognized as a world hockey player.

Michael Green works as a doctor and lives in Hamburg . From 2010 to 2013 he was Vice President Sport in the German Hockey Association . In the world hockey association FIH , Green was chairman of the athletes commission from 2010 to 2016.
