Life

Soldano grew up in his native Seattle. After Soldano heard the title Badge , he got a classical guitar from his father and wanted to make the guitar "cry" like Eric Clapton . Soldano himself described Clapton's performance as "the coolest thing [he] has ever heard", but could not satisfy himself with it and instead modified cars: "In my youth, I terrorized street racers in Seattle with my Chevrolet Camaro, " so Soldano. Soldano bought a copy of the Fender Bassman at the age of 21 and mostly learned how to fix amplifiers as he couldn't afford to have the amplifier repaired himself. His first prototype amplifier called "Mr. Science ”he finished at the end of 1980. The amplifier was made of a sheet of plywood with some electronic components that were supposed to give the amplifier a pure sound. The rock musician Peter Frampton and Mark Knopfler used the amp for live and studio recordings, as they waited for their first Soldano Soldano amplifiers and gave advice on how to improve the sound quality. In 1977 Soldano opened his first shop, where he sold high quality electric guitars until 1980. Soldano set himself the goal of creating the "ultimate rock guitar amplifier" and traveled to San Francisco , among other places, to get to know the different tastes of guitarists. After “Mr. Science “gained popularity, Soldano got more and more orders and built numerous amplifiers in his parents' house. Today Soldano sells its still handcrafted amplifiers all over the world and employs several people in its workshop.
