Michael Jackson (Bishop)
Michael Jackson (born May 24, 1956 in Lurgan , Northern Ireland, United Kingdom ) is Archbishop of Dublin and Bishop of Glendalough of the Church of Ireland .
Church career
Michael Geoffrey St Aubyn Jackson was ordained a priest in 1987. From 1989 to 1997 he was a chaplain at Christ Church College , Oxford. After returning to Ireland, he was Dean of Cork (1997-2002).
Michael Jackson also plays an active role in the wider Anglican community , particularly in the areas of ecumenical movement and interfaith dialogue .
He was elected Bishop of Clogher by the Church of Ireland on November 21, 2001 and ordained on March 6, 2002 at St. Patrick's Anglican Cathedral in Armagh .
On February 2, 2011 he was elected Archbishop of Dublin and Bishop of Glendalough, on May 8, 2011 he succeeded John Neill .
