Michael Kaeshammer

Michael Kaeshammer (born January 7, 1977 in Offenburg ) is a German-Canadian jazz musician ( pianist , singer and arranger ). He was awarded the Juno Award .

Originally trained as a classical pianist, he discovered his love for boogie-woogie . He has presented several blues and jazz-oriented records on which he interprets standards from jazz, boogie-woogie and blues as well as his own compositions and songs. He has toured with Harry Manx and is on tour with Anne Murray . On his albums he plays the piano, Wurlitzer piano, Rhodes and e-piano.

He and his parents moved from Offenburg to a town near Sidney , British Columbia. He then lived in Vancouver for seven years . He later moved to Toronto and then to New Orleans in the United States .
