Michael Kuffer (born March 16, 1972 in Munich ) is a German politician ( CSU ) and lawyer . He has been a member of the 19th German Bundestag since the 2017 federal election .

Life

Michael Kuffer graduated from high school in Munich and then studied law . He works as a lawyer and specialist lawyer for public procurement law in Munich .

Kuffer has a lectureship in hazard prevention law at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences . He has been the district chairman of the Bavarian Red Cross in the Starnberg district since 2009 .

He is married and has four children.

Michael Kuffer has been a member of the CSU since 1996.

From 2008 to March 31, 2018 he was a member of the Munich city council , since 2014 he has been deputy spokesman for the CSU parliamentary group in the city council, and since 2016 co-assistant for the district administration department (the city's regulatory and security authority). There he demanded the introduction of a municipal security service armed with firearms.

In 2009 he had to pay a fine of 300 euros after illegally using an address mailing list of the Bavarian Red Cross to send his election advertisements to 1,500 people. The evening newspaper quoted a member of the Munich BRK district association: "Kuffer has anticipated the expulsion by switching to the BRK in Starnberg."

In the 2017 federal election , he was elected as a direct candidate for the CSU in the Munich-South constituency with 33.0% of the first votes in the Bundestag . In the 19th German Bundestag he is a full member of the Committee on Home Affairs and the Subcommittee on Civic Engagement. He is also a deputy member of the Foreign Affairs Committee , the Defense Committee , and the 1st and 2nd Parliamentary Investigative Committee of the 19th legislative period.
