Michael Lohschmidt (* 1969 ) is a former German biathlete .

Michael Lohschmidt was a successful junior biathlete in the late 1980s. In 1988 he won the gold medal at the Junior World Championships with Frank Dittrich , Steffen Hoos and Mark Kirchner in the GDR relay, ahead of the relay from Norway and the Soviet Union. A year later he had his most successful season. At the Junior World Championships he won the bronze medal with Ricco Groß , Arne Kluge and Kirchner in the GDR relay behind the Soviet Union and the selection of West Germany. In the sprint he won the title ahead of Mikael Löfgren and Wiktor Maigurow . He also won the individual title at the last GDR championships. After his active career he started to work for SC Willingen . There he is a biathlon trainer and specialist biathlon. Carolin Hennecke as well as Karolin and Nadine Horchler are among his protégés .
