Steffen Hoos (born January 29, 1968 in Tambach-Dietharz ) is a former German biathlete .

Steffen Hoos began his international career in 1988, still starting for the GDR at the Biathlon World Cup in Albertville . In the individual he reached the 44th rank. The following year in Borovets and his fourth World Cup race, he won his first World Cup point in 25th place. In the subsequent individual in Ruhpolding , he came eighth for the first time in the top ten. In 1989 he won the bronze medal in the team competition at the Biathlon World Championships in Feistritz together with Andreas Heymann , André Sehmisch and Raik Dittrich . He achieved his best individual result in a world championship race by finishing sixth in the individual at the 1990 Biathlon World Championships . The highlight of his career was his participation in the 1992 Winter Olympics , where he finished 18th in the individual. In 1993 Hoos was sixth in a sprint in Pokljuka, repeating his best result in an international individual race. In the same year he achieved the greatest success of his career by winning the gold medal in the team competition at the Biathlon World Championships in Borowez in 1993 with Fritz Fischer , Frank Luck and Sven Fischer . He won another bronze medal in this competition with Jens Steinigen , Marco Morgenstern and Peter Sendel at the 1994 Biathlon World Championships . In 1994 Hoos ended his international career.
