Michael Macsenaere

Michael Macsenaere (born December 7, 1959 ) is a German psychologist . He has headed the Institute for Child and Youth Welfare in Mainz since 2001 .

Life

Macsenaere graduated from the Episcopal Willigis High School in Mainz in 1978 . From 1981 to 1988 Macsenaere studied psychology at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz . In 1995 the doctorate to Dr. rer. nat. and in 2003 the habilitation with the thesis "Venia legendi - Psychology in curative education with special consideration of movement education" at the University of Cologne .

In 2005 he was appointed honorary professor for sport psychology at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.

Macsenaere has been director since 2001 and managing director of the Institute for Child and Youth Welfare in Mainz since 2006. He teaches at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, the University of Cologne and the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences .

In 2011 he founded the Macsenaere Foundation to promote young people.
