Michael Menke-Peitzmeyer

Michael Menke-Peitzmeyer (born December 9, 1964 in Anröchte ) is a Roman Catholic theologian and priest . He is Regens of the seminary and head of the priest training in the Archdiocese of Paderborn .

Life

After studying in Paderborn and at the Collegium Germanicum et Hungaricum in Rome , he was ordained a priest there in 1990. In his home diocese he worked as a pastor in St. Johannes Baptist (Beverungen) (1991–1994) and - in addition to his doctoral studies - until 1997 as a temporary pastor in St. Johannes Baptist (Rheda) . From 1997 to 1999 he was a subsidiary in St. Brother Konrad (Gütersloh-Spexard) , then parish administrator in St. Marien (Neuenbeken) and, until 2002, also in Paderborn-Benhausen .

In 2000 he did his doctorate at the theological faculty of the University of Münster under Thomas Pröpper in the subject dogmatics with a thesis on the self-revelation concept of Karl Barth . Archbishop Hans-Josef Becker appointed him in 2003 as his personal advisor and secret secretary. In the same year he was appointed cathedral vicar. Since 2004 he has been a subsidiar in the Paderborn-Süd-Ost-Dahl pastoral network. Pope Benedict XVI appointed him in 2005 to the Papal Honorary Chaplain (Monsignor). In 2011 he was appointed representative for further training for priests in the Archdiocese of Paderborn and in August 2012 he was appointed honorary professor for theology in pastoral care and preaching at the seminary. In August 2013, he was also given the office of rain and thus the leadership of the seminary and the Collegium Leoninum . Archbishop Hans-Josef Becker appointed him in October 2013 to the Real Spiritual Council and in December 2013, with effect from January 1, 2014, to the Cathedral Chapter .

His brother is the playwright and actor Jörg Menke-Peitzmeyer .
