Michael Wolfgang Laurence Morris, Baron Naseby PC (born November 25, 1936 ) is a British Conservative Party politician who represented Northampton South as a member of the House of Commons for 23 years and has been a member of the House of Lords since 1997 .

Life

Professional career and local politician

Morris did his military service as a pilot officer with the Royal Air Force (RAF) and during this time also found employment with NATO .

In the general election of March 31, 1966 , Morris ran for the Conservative Party in the constituency of Islington North unsuccessfully for a seat in the House of Commons and then became involved in local politics from 1968 to 1974 as a member of the council of the London Borough of Islington , chairing it between 1969 and 1971 was.

His main occupation was from 1971 to 1981 as director of the advertising agency Benton & Bowles and from 1976 to 1992 as founder and owner of AM International Public Affairs Consultants in the private sector.

Member of the House of Commons

Morris was elected member of the House of Commons in the newly created constituency of Northampton South in the February 28, 1974 elections and represented it for 23 years until the May 1, 1997 general election .

House of Lords

After leaving the House of Commons, he was raised to the nobility by a letters patent dated October 28, 1997 as a Life Peer with the title Baron Naseby , of Sandy in the County of Bedfordshire .
