Michael Neureiter (born January 29, 1877 in Kuchl , † January 22, 1941 in Salzburg ) was an Austrian politician ( CSP ) and dean . He was President of the State Parliament and Member of the State Parliament of the Salzburg State Parliament as well as State Councilor and Deputy Governor of the Salzburg State Government .

education and profession

Neureiter graduated from the Archbishop's private grammar school Borromäum in Salzburg in 1897 and then studied theology at the University of Salzburg between 1897 and 1901 . During his studies in 1900 he was ordained a priest and in 1901 and 1902 he took on the role of cooperator in the parishes of Taxenbach and Schwoich . He then worked as a cooperator in St. Johann im Pongau between 1902 and 1914 . In 1914 he finally became pastor of the parish of St. Johann im Pongau and dean, and in 1927 he became cathedral capitular . Most recently he held the office of General Dean for Salzburg from 1929 to 1932.

politics

Between 1909 and 1918, Neureiter was a member of the state parliament for the 4th, general electoral class of the Pongau rural communities, an elected member of the Salzburg state parliament and subsequently represented the Christian Social Party between April 23, 1919 and January 18, 1934 in the Salzburg state parliament. From November 30, 1920 to December 16, 1921, he held the office of regional councilor of the Salzburg state government and from May 18, 1921 to May 3, 1922, he was President of the State Parliament.
