Michael Obasuyi (born August 12, 1999 ) is a Belgian hurdler who specializes in the 110-meter distance .

Athletic career and life

Michael Obasuyi gained his first international experience in 2015 when he was disqualified in the hurdles sprint in the first round at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Tbilisi and finished ninth in the long jump with 6.66 m. In the following year he reached seventh place in the long jump at the European Youth Championships, which were held for the first time there, with 7.16 m and in 2017 he reached the semi -finals in the hurdles at the U20 European Championships in Grosseto , where he was eliminated with 14.17 s. In 2018 he was fourth in the U20 World Championships in Tampere in 13.45 s and he also qualified for the European Championships in Berlin , where he was eliminated in the semifinals with 13.78 s. The following year he finished fifth in the U23 European Championships in Gävle in 13.67 s.

In 2019 Obasuyi became Belgian champion in the 110-meter hurdles outdoors and in 2020 indoor champion over 60 m hurdles.
