Michael Oren
Michael Oren ( Hebrew מיכאל אורן, Born Michael Scott Bornstein , 1955 in New York ) is an Israeli diplomat , author , historian and politician of the Kulanu party .
Life
Oren studied at Columbia University and Princeton University . In 1979 he emigrated from the United States to Israel. In July 2009 he was appointed Israeli ambassador to the United States as successor to Sallai Meridor and remained in that office until 2013. He was followed by Ron Dermer as ambassador to the United States . Oren has been a member of the Knesset since 2015 . He has been married to Sally Edelstein since 1982 and has three children.
