Theodor Wissmann

Theodor Wißmann as Göttingen Nassauer, 1837

Franz August Theodor Wißmann (born June 8, 1818 in Schadeck (Runkel) , † January 11, 1884 in Marienberg ) was a German administrative officer and parliamentarian.

Life

Theodor Wißmann studied law and political science at the Georg-August University in Göttingen from 1837 to 1840 . In 1837 he became a member of the Corps Nassovia Göttingen. In 1840 he entered the municipal administration of the Duchy of Nassau . In 1853 he was Ducal Nassau District Office Secretary in the Hachenburg District Office . In 1860 he became a state high school administrator in Marienberg and in 1862 he was an official of the Marienberg office . In 1867 he was provisional and in 1868 finally the district administrator of the Oberwesterwaldkreis . He held the office until his death in 1884.

Before 1866, the year of the annexation by Prussia , Wissmann was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates of the Duchy of Nassau . From 1879 to 1882 he sat as a member of the constituency Wiesbaden 10 (Dillkreis, Oberwesterwaldkreis) in the Prussian House of Representatives . He belonged to the faction of the Free Conservative Party .
