Michael Röhm (born August 25, 1965 in Neuenkirchen ) is a German chef , restaurateur and hotelier .

Life

After completing his cooking apprenticeship at the Maritim Golf & Sporthotel on Timmendorfer Strand , he moved to the Hotel Excelsior in Berlin in 1987 . After a year he moved to Rockendorf's Restaurant. From 1989 to 1993 he worked as a chef at the Grand Hotel Esplanade in Berlin. His last position before starting his own business was from 1993 to 1999 as head chef at the Vitus restaurant in Reinstorf . In 1994 the chef was awarded a Michelin star for the first time. Since 2000, the Zum Heidkrug restaurant, which opened in the same year, has also been rated with one star in the Michelin Guide . The Heidkrug was an elegant, rustic, two-story restaurant in a historic gabled half-timbered house from the 15th century in Lüneburg . The restaurant was closed at the end of 2014.
