Michael Roolf

Michael Roolf (born May 29, 1961 in Wismar ) is a former German politician (FDP) and owner of a tire company. From 2006 to 2011 he was parliamentary group leader of the FDP in the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

Life

Roolf attended the Polytechnic High School in Wismar from 1967 to 1977 . He then completed a two-year apprenticeship as a vulcanizer . At the same time, he made up his Abitur at EOS . From 1982 to 1984 he trained as a master vulcanizer. In 1990 he took over his parents' tire service and two years later founded a Mazda dealership.

His political career began in October 1993 when he joined the FDP. In September 1999 he was elected district chairman of the party in Wismar and from 1999 to December 2004 he held his first mandate in the citizenship of the Hanseatic city.

In November 2005 he was elected as the FDP's top candidate for the upcoming state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and finally moved into the state parliament after the election on September 17, 2006 . He was a member of the state parliament's committee for economy, labor and tourism and transport, construction and regional development.

At the beginning of 2017, Roolf left the party.
