Walter Goldbeck

Walter Goldbeck (born February 12, 1945 in Bresch ) is a former German politician ( FDP ).

Life and work

After attending school, Goldbeck completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith in Malchin and worked as a machine fitter at the Warnow shipyard in Warnemünde until 1967 . He then studied at the Erfurt University of Education , entered the school service and worked as a teacher at the Polytechnic High School in Lübz .

After the peaceful revolution in the GDR , Goldbeck became head of the cultural department in the Schwerin regional administration in June 1990 . In 2007 he retired.

Political party

Goldbeck had been a member of the LDPD since 1967 and from 1978 to 1990 advisor for cultural policy at the district board of the LDPD Schwerin. In 1990 he joined the FDP .

MP

Goldbeck was a member of the commission for the drafting of a state constitution for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . He was elected to the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 1990 and was chairman of the FDP parliamentary group there from 1990 to 1994. After the FDP's defeat in the state elections in 1994, he left parliament and then withdrew from active politics.
