Michael Router

Michael Router (born April 15, 1965 in Rahardrum , Virginia , Ireland ) is an Irish clergyman and appointed Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Armagh .

Life

Michael Router studied at St. Patrick College in Maynooth and received the sacrament of ordination for the Diocese of Kilmore on June 25, 1989 . He later earned a Diploma in Education from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth .

After being ordained a priest, he was active in pastoral care, as a teacher and school chaplain. From 2003 to 2010 he directed adult religious education in the Diocese of Kilmore and from 2010 to 2013 the diocesan pastoral center. After a year as pastor of the cathedral in Cavan , he was appointed pastor in Killann ( Bailieborough ) and dean of Bailieborough in 2014.

Pope Francis appointed him Titular Bishop of Lugmad and Auxiliary Bishop in Armagh on May 7, 2019 .
