Michael Schacht (born February 25, 1941 in Berlin ) is a German theater actor and radio play speaker .

Life

Schacht completed an acting training at the drama school in Frankfurt am Main from 1962 to 1966 . From the 1964/65 season he had his first roles at the municipal theaters and at the Theater am Turm in Frankfurt and in the following season at the Kassel State Theater .

From 1966 to 1968 he was engaged at the Städtebundtheater Biel-Solothurn . In 1967/1968 he took part in the Schwäbisch Hall open-air theater and the Gandersheim Cathedral Festival. In 1968/1969 he played at the Theater am Neumarkt in Zurich . From 1970 to 1972 he was at the Schauspielhaus Zürich , 1972/73 at the Stadttheater St. Gallen and 1974 to 1978 at the Stadttheater Bern . He has been working as a freelance artist since 1978, including roles at the Kleintheater Kramgasse 6 in Bern, at the Atelier-Theater Bern and as a puppeteer at the Bern Puppet Theater .

Schacht has been an interpreter and lyricist for Schweizer Radio DRS since the late 1970s . Since 1989 he has been the main character of the private detective Maloney in the radio play series The Hair-raising Cases of Philip Maloney . In addition, Schacht has worked in numerous films, radio plays , readings, oratorios, settings and synchronizations and is an off-speaker for Swiss television .

Schacht is the author of poems and short stories broadcast on the radio . He lives in Bern, his life partner is the actress, radio presenter and music editor Beatrice Schüpbach .
