Michael Schley (born December 31, 1974 in Neunkirchen / Saar ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

education

He attended the Krebsberg-Gymnasium in Neunkirchen in Saarland and, after graduating from high school, studied law in Saarbrücken and Exeter . After completing his legal clerkship, he worked at the Saarland Ministry of the Environment, most recently as personal advisor to Stefan Mörsdorf . From 1994 to 2000 Schley was also a freelancer for the Saarbrücker Zeitung .

In 1989 Michael Schley joined the Junge Union . On April 25, 2007 he was appointed as a member of the Saarland state parliament . He replaced the resigned Alfons Vogtel , but was no longer considered by his party in the 2009 state elections and thus left the Saarland state parliament. In the state parliament, Schley was a member of the legal, environmental and health committee as well as the inquiry committee "Demographic Change".

The representative assembly of the CDU Neunkirchen elected him in 2009 with an approval of 95 percent as their OB candidate. He thus stood in the mayoral election on June 7, 2009 as a candidate for the Union. The election was won by the mayor of Neunkirchen, Jürgen Fried (SPD), with 64 percent of the vote.

Schley is the son of the former soccer player Gerd Schley and a parish and deanery secretary.
