Michael Shawn Lewis

Michael Shawn Lewis (born November 15, 1971 in Riverside (California) ) is an American-born musical singer who became known in Germany as Raoul ( Phantom of the Opera ) and Emperor Franz Joseph ( Elisabeth ).

Career

Michael Lewis was born in California, USA and grew up in the mountains of Tennessee. Of himself he says that for as long as he can remember he has always sung in his life. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from Stetson University ; his master's degree - also in classical singing - at the New England Conservatory . He then moved to New York to continue his studies privately. Like Kristian Korsholm Vetter and Kasper Holmboe , Lewis had his first engagement on German soil in Duisburg at Les Misérables , where he gave both the Marius and the Enjolras. In addition, he participated as Emperor Franz Joseph on the side of Uwe Kröger and Pia Douwes in the German premiere of the musical Elisabeth . At this venue he was then replaced by André Bauer .
