Michael Stitzel

Michael Stitzel (born May 11, 1940 in Leipzig ) is a German economist . He is Emeritus Professor of Business Administration , especially Environmental Management , the University of Berlin .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1959 at the St. Blasien college , he did military service in the armed forces. Stitzel then trained as a typesetter in Karlsruhe and worked from 1963 to 1964 as a typesetter's assistant in Switzerland . In 1967 he obtained a diploma from the Academy for the Graphic Arts in Munich and passed his master craftsman examination .

He then studied business administration at the University of Karlsruhe and the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich ( Diplom-Kaufmann 1972). After a short period as a freelancer at the Department for Urban Development in Munich, he was an assistant at the University of Munich. He was at Edmund Heinen at the State Economic Faculty of the University of Munich with a thesis on the behavior of entrepreneurs towards socio-political transformation for Dr. rer. pole. PhD. He then became a research assistant at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich . In 1977 he became scientific advisor (Prof. Rainer Marr ) at the Bundeswehr University. In 1984 he completed his habilitation with the thesis The smooth transition into retirement .

From 1985 to 1986 he was visiting professor at the University of Innsbruck and then a deputy chair and professor at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt . In 1991 he switched to the professorship of general business administration , especially environmental management , at the Faculty of Economics at the Free University of Berlin . In 2005 he retired.

He is a member of the Association of University Lecturers for Business Administration and the German Network for Business Ethics .
