Career

youth

Michael Thiede spent his childhood in Sehnde , where he learned to play handball after winning various long throw competitions under Dieter Beschnidt at TV Eintracht Sehnde. After moving to Rethmar , he interrupted his career for two years. With the A-youth of the TVE he became vice-Lower Saxony champion. This season, the 2.02 meter tall backcourt player developed into a key player in the team.

Men's handball

Shortly after his 17th birthday, Thiede completed his first assignment in the men's team of the district top division TVE Sehnde. Via TSV Burgdorf he came to third division club Lehrter SV . There he was the top scorer in the 2004/05 season with 206 goals in 24 games.

For the 2006/07 season he moved to Bundesliga promoted Eintracht Hildesheim . After only one season he switched to Frisch Auf Göppingen . With Göppingen he won the EHF Cup in 2011 and 2012 . His contract there ran until 2012. Since this was not extended beyond 2012, he joined TV Großwallstadt . After Großwallstadt was relegated from the Bundesliga at the end of the 2012/13 season, Thiedes' contract, which was only valid for the first division, was not extended, after which he went back to Göppingen in 2013/14. Michael Thiede was bid farewell to the end of the 2013/14 season in Göppingen after his contract had expired. At that time, a new club was not yet known.
