Michael Trengert

Michael Trengert (born November 4, 1968 in Geislingen an der Steige ; † September 23, 2013 in Salach ) was the founder of the European branch of the metal label Metal Blade , as well as co-organizer of the German metal festival Summer Breeze .

Life

Trengert enthusiastic about early for the music and started going to concerts and music with friends at the age of eleven demo tapes to swap. He later brought out his own music magazine "Speed ​​Attack". After his apprenticeship he was the first official employee of the Donzdorf music label Nuclear Blast , for which he worked as a promoter.

In the mid-1990s he founded his own company "Pulse Promotion". On a trip to the USA as a tour guide for Pungent Stench , he came into contact with the American label Metal Blade Records , which were planning to expand their involvement in Europe.

After opening the “Metal Blade Records Europe” branch in 1995 in Salach , Swabia , Trengert was its managing director until 2009. In this role he pioneered the bands Amon Amarth , Cannibal Corpse , Neaera , Powerwolf and Primordial .

Since 2002 he has also co-organized the metal festival Summer Breeze with his company Silverdust Records .

Michael Trengert died on September 23, 2013 after a long illness.

Amon Amarth dedicated their 2016 album Jomsviking to the memory of Michael Trengert .
