Michael Weber (journalist)

Michael Weber (* 1952 in Schwäbisch Hall ) is a German journalist and moderator .

Weber graduated in humanistic Stuttgart Eberhard-Ludwigs-Gymnasium his High School and then studied in Munich German , communications and theater studies . Since 1981 he has been a permanent editor at Südwestrundfunk . Together with Rüdiger Becker, he was the editor and presenter of the radio youth program Point , was the winner of the UNDA radio award of the German-speaking countries, and reported on events from abroad for ARD radio. In 1996 he was one of the co-founders of Das Ding , which went on air as a joint youth program for SDR and SWF, and in 1998, after the merger, he switched to television at SWR. Weber has also been working as a foreign correspondent and travel journalist since 1994 and, after a three-month report expedition through Africa with Michael Mattig-Gerlach, won the journalists' prize for development policy in 1998 for a television report from the Ivory Coast .
