Michael Wiget (born November 4, 1998 ) is an active Swiss wrestler .

Life

Michael Wiget successfully completed his Matura at the Kollegium St. Michael in Freiburg in summer 2018 . He is studying law at the FernUni Switzerland . The Sennenschwinger lives in Wünnewil , which belongs to the canton of Friborg . He is the oldest of three siblings, he has a younger sister and a younger brother.

Swing

In 2015 he got his first wreath at the Zeeland Wrestling Festival in Vinelz at the age of 16 and was considered a great young talent.

Michael Wiget swings for the Laupen wrestling club and is a member of the Bernese-Cantonal Wrestling Association.

This was followed by three years of injuries, which is why he was only able to return to the wrestling courts in 2019. He won his first federal wreath at the Swiss Wrestling and Alpine Festival 2019 in Zug at the age of 20. In the following year he won 8 wreaths and was even in the final aisle at the Mittelländisches Schwingfest in Neuenegg and at the Weissenstein Swinget .

He closed the 2019 season with the wreath at the Swiss Wrestling and Alpine Festival in Zug .

In the official annual points list of the Swiss Federal Wrestling Association , Michael Wiget took 10th place in 2019.
