Michael Zutavern

Michael Zutavern (* 1952 ) is a German-Swiss educational scientist . He is deputy rector and professor at the Lucerne University of Education .

Career

Michael Zutavern studied education, psychology and sociology at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz . He received his doctorate on the subject of “Professional Ethos of Teachers” at the University of Friborg, and in 2003 he obtained his doctorate . The title of professor was awarded to him by the PH Luzern.

After working as a research assistant at the Institute for Media Didactics of the Koblenz University of Education (1980–1986) and at the Pedagogical Institute of the University of Friborg in the Swiss National Fund project Teacher Ethos (1986–1989), he was a lecturer in pedagogy and psychology as well as research assistant at the PH between 1989 and 2002 St. Gallen . From 2002 to 2013 Zutavern was a lecturer and head of the secondary level I course at the PHZ Lucerne, from 2003 he was Vice-Rector. Since 2013 he has been the deputy rector of the PH Luzern. At the same time, he was in charge of training between 2013 and 2017. Since 2015, Zutavern has been a member of the Swiss Accreditation Council, the joint body of the Confederation and the cantons for the accreditation and quality assurance of all Swiss universities in accordance with the HEdA .

Michael Zutavern is co-editor of the journal for teacher training.
