Michaela Drummond (born April 5, 1998 in Te Awamutu ) is a New Zealand cyclist.

Athletic career

In 2014 Michaela Drummond won the junior titles in Scratch and Omnium on the track at the Oceania Championships . The following year, she was Junior World Champion in team pursuit with Bryony Botha , Holly White and Madeleine Park . The New Zealand quartet set a new junior world record with 4: 31.966 minutes, which lasted for around a year. In 2016, she won two silver medals at the Junior Track World Championships , one in the Omnium and another in the team pursuit (with Emily Shearman , Kate Smith and Nicole Shields ).

In 2017, Drummond received her first team contract, competed in the international elite for the first time and became Oceania champion in scratch. In the two-man team , she won the silver medal with Racquel Sheath . A few weeks later she became the New Zealand elite champion in the Omnium . At the 2017 UCI Track World Championships in Hong Kong , she won the bronze medal in the team pursuit with Rushlee Buchanan , Kirstie James , Jaime Nielsen and Racquel Sheath. In 2019 she became national champion in scratch on the track, on the road she finished third in the New Zealand road racing championship.
